I can't recommend this mess. Pathfinding's whacked too. Having to play as two people is just not a good idea unless you're playing with a friend which I don't play multiplayer games. Switching with the Tab key and babysitting your partner while trying to stay alive isn't done well compared to say Left 4 Dead 2.. As all the rest of Conflict series it is traditionally a mixture of wins, failures, and triump of being mediocre.Pros:- quality graphics and fairly detailed world (reminds me of Serious Sam 3 and Far Cry in this respect)- lot of items are destructible- the engine is very much scalable, so you can get it run smoothly on potatos by having turned off effects (will still look good)- level design is fine, atmospheric somewhat and layouts are varying level to level. You won't feel bored.- soundtrack quality is varying depeding on the level (e.g. for levels in Russia it is terrifically atmospheric ambient, I liked it much)- you have some equipment to drive, but the usage is rather limited- the game is neither long, nor short. Can be complete within 10 hour max- action is moderately tense- enemy AI is at nice level and is tactically-minded. They fall back when overrun, hide behind the obstacles etc.- absolutely negliable amount of physical model bugs (experienced only 2 times) for the world of such complexityCons:- the plot is outstandingly hideous cliche galore (with African warlords, Russian ex-military gangsters, starring insane Venezuelan general-dictator, featuring nuclear arms hunting and all-cool FBI agents)- there are barrels and jerry cans with explosive materials scattered all around levels. Sub-par idea for a tactical shooter.- game disigners should not be allowed to be doing their job under influence - it is not safe and healthy, and can have negative effect on players minds ('Kolyma Castle' in Russia. Fascinating. You will see yourself, nothing else to tell here about. It is so authenetic... It is masterpiece and triumph of modern day stupid arrogance)- your teammate sometimes become certified idiot either advancing in extremely slow pace letting you at your own devices somewhere in the middle of tense firefight, or runs Rambo-like to the most open position in the middle of intense fight just to be shot, or just running backwards for some guy in the other room leaving you on your own. And this all happens ignoring your commands. The issue is observed mostly at later stages and this becomes critical than. I've seen agents shooting in the enemy standing in front of them but all the time missing, ending up being killed with melee attack!- persistent bug with characters speech disappearing after loading the game. Gets self-fixed in a minute or two of playtime- the balance between 2 operators is changing through the game with receiving weapon upgrades: the guy with rifle is sort of useless at the later stages, while the guy with SMG is not that great performer at the beginning- when you are dead the game doesn't allow you to re-load at once, but forces you to listen to the same radio exchange about mission is being aborted -bla bla bla. So to say the game misses sort of shut-up-and-load button. Annoying- you can't change the load-out, or take dropped weapons. There is some sense in it for sure, but you feel you team being limited in versatality- some comments made by both agents during the game I've found somewhat racist and therfore insulting (I let it up to developers moral values) Summary:Yet another Conflict series installment, unbelievable mixture of mediocre, blunt plot, quality graphics and addictive gameplay.- Will perfectly siut simplified tactical shooters fans as a good balance between realism and action;- Won't siut sim purists because of being too simplified and so fictional plot;- Abolsutely no go for those who play classic action shooters since no Rambo survives here;- Strongly requires being immune to idiotism and arrogant stupidity (or skip the cutscnes or briefings)Bottom line: still recommended.. It's not a very good game, not even in co-op with a friend. It's bloody and has gratuitous swearing but that doesn't make a good game and Rogue Warrior is proof of that. It's just bad, the graphics are bad but I can make due with that. It's the voice-acting and story (or lack there of) that make it worse than terrible. It's just bad, bad, bad, bad, bad all around.+ Intense, violent combat+ Decent soundtrack+ "Puncture-tech" & destruction- Poor controls- Muddy graphics- Dull protagonists- Uninteresting cast- Dreadful voice-acting- Almost no narrative at all- Atrocious writing- Even playing co-op is boring- Neither character is particularly fun to play and they play too similarly to one-another. never in my life did i play a more uninspired, ugly, broken game. this is just broken. not broken in a way that "you can't play it literally" but broken in such a way that it just a chore to play through this♥♥♥♥♥♥ and i did play the original trilogy of conflict and was wondering why this one is getting the overwhelmingly negative rating on steam. and now, i know. stay the hell away!. mtooooooooooo ruim, uma m....... veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad, terrible, crap, horrible,♥♥♥♥♥♥game.. JUST DONT BUY THIS CRAP PLEASE BUY SOMTHING BETTER, who uses shift to aim ? you cant even bind the mouse to aim THE SOUND IS DISGUSTING !. Sometimes I wish there was a third "neutral" review option...This seems to have been quite a nice game some years ago. Now the graphics are just too simple to keep me playing. Resolution is limited to 1680*1060.As an owner of a HTC Vive I also rate VR compatibility where applicable. I use vorpX to play non-VR games on the Vive. Conflict: Denied Ops is not on the list of fully supported games.I liked the possibility to switch between the two agents during battle.
